Privacy Policy

What we do

automateyourtaxes.com scans your email inbox to identify invoices, receipts, and payments that may qualify as tax deductions. We use AI to extract and categorize this information into a structured report.

Email access

We request read-only access to your Gmail account through Google OAuth. We cannot send, delete, or modify any emails in your account. We only search for emails matching invoice and receipt-related keywords.

Data processing

Your email content is processed in memory during the scan and is not stored on our servers. Once the scan is complete, the raw email data is discarded. We only retain the structured deduction report (vendor names, amounts, categories) for the duration of your browser session.

No human access

No human ever reads your emails. All processing is performed by automated AI systems. Your inbox content is never viewed, shared, or stored by any person.

Third-party services

• Google OAuth — handles email authentication. Subject to Google's privacy policy.
• One (withone.ai) — manages secure API connections to your Gmail. Subject to One's privacy policy.
• Anthropic (Claude AI) — processes email content to extract deduction data. Email snippets are sent to the AI for analysis and are not retained by Anthropic beyond the request.
• Stripe — processes payments. We never see or store your credit card information. Subject to Stripe's privacy policy.
• Vercel — hosts our application. Subject to Vercel's privacy policy.

What we store

• We do not store your emails.
• We do not store your Gmail password or OAuth tokens beyond the active session.
• We do not store your credit card information.
• We may store anonymized, aggregate usage data (e.g., total scans performed) for analytics.

Cookies

We use browser localStorage and sessionStorage to maintain your scan results during your session. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

Data deletion

Since we do not store your email data, there is nothing to delete. Your scan results exist only in your browser and are cleared when you close the tab. You can revoke our access to your Gmail at any time through your Google account settings at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
